Clyde has launched an investigation after Cove Rangers player Shay Logan claimed he was subjected to racist abuse in his first Scottish League match.

Logan listed on social media some of the abuse he heard from Clyde’s supporters during Cove’s 1-0 win at Broadwood.

Clyde issued a statement condemning any discriminatory behavior in matches.

“The club has learned of a racist comment against Cove Rangers player Shay Logan by a spectator during today’s Premier League game at Broadwood,” the statement read.

“Clyde Football Club will not tolerate or condone racial, sectarian, sexual harassment, bigotry or any other discriminatory behaviour, whether physical or verbal, and will ensure that such behavior is countered with appropriate action in whatever context it occurs.

Tonight, the club has opened an investigation into this matter.”

Ian Figurs scored Cove’s victory with a goal in the 71st minute.
