City “dodge a bullet” at Ronaldo

Former professional Trevor Sinclair believes Manchester City “dodge a bullet” when they missed the chance to sign Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer.

After his association with the Citizens, Ronaldo emotionally ended up returning to the Red Devils.

Sinclair told talkSPORT: “I’m starting to think that Manchester City dodged a bullet by not signing Cristiano.

“I really think so. You look at some of the players who are really struggling for the level at Man United, [Jadon] Sancho, [Marcus] Rashford.

“He should know his role. You are a footballer, the football club hired you, and sometimes you shut your mouth – that’s what you have to do.

Sinclair added: “I think Ronaldo caused a lot of problems at the football club.

“Not only his lack of goals lately but the fact that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, then Michael, has left [Carrick] He entered and dropped him to play.

“I just feel like it was one of those deals that looked good, but it’s far from good.”
