Morocco proved very strong for Comoros at the Africa Cup of Nations, winning 2-0 to stay top of Group C and secure qualification for the Round of 16 of the finals.
Selim Amal Allah scored in the 16th minute, and Zakaria Abu Khalil hit the final whistle to guarantee victory after Youssef Al-Nusairi saved a penalty kick.
The result should have been much more one-sided if Morocco took advantage of its chances as it beat the tournament’s newcomers at the Ahmedou Ahidjo Stadium.
Morocco now has six points while Comoros has yet to open an account. Gabon and Ghana play their second match in Group C at the same stadium later on Friday.
Morocco faces Gabon at 7 pm on Tuesday, live Sky Sports Football.
In the other Group C match, Comoros will meet Ghana, also at 7 pm on Tuesday, live. Sky Sports Football.
